A boundless universe exists within each and every one of us. Such universes are more commonly referred to as dreams. With a little time and effort anyone can access and exert conscious control over the universe within by way of lucid dreaming.
Following are very basic guidelines to get you started on your own lucid dream explorations.
Achieving Dream Induced Lucid Dreams
Step 1 Preparation
Read about lucid dreaming. There are countless books and websites to be investigated. Even better? Find a dream community, online or in real life, to learn from. Get advice from practicing and experienced lucid dreamers.
Step 2 Sleep Schedule
While you learn about lucid dreaming you can adjust your sleep schedule. Try to go to bed and awaken at roughly the same time as often as possible. A fairly steady sleeping schedule can make it much easier to recall dreams.
Step 3- Dream Journal
Recording and recalling dreams can really up the chance of experiencing a lucid one. Keep a book, pen and perhaps a light next to your bed for easy access upon waking. Scribble down dreams first thing. If you wait you might lose your dreams. Busy mornings it's easier to jot down quick dream summaries or keywords then flesh them out later when you have more time.
Step 4 Dream Signs
After journaling for a while you may notice certain things or themes reoccur in your dreams. Highlight such reoccuring themes in your dream journal. Isolating 3-5 steady dreamsigns is a good start. Learning to recognise such situations can trigger dream lucidity when combined with reality checking.
Step 5 Reality Checking
Stop and question reality. The more often you stop to question reality, the more likely reality checking will become a habit that gets carried over into the dreaming state. Ask if you are dreaming when you encounter a dream sign, when you wake up, when you see something strange, when things feel out of joint, or set up a reality check schedule. Doesn't really matter how you do it. Just do it and do it often. The key is to make reality checking a habit that will cross over into your dreams.
By employing these five steps you'll eventually 'awaken' in a dream. You'll have experienced your first Dream Induced Lucid Dream (DILD)
Yeah, it takes some time and effort. Don't give up or get frustrated. Stay positive and keep practicing. It's well worth it when you finally become lucid and know without a shadow of a doubt that a measureless and malleable universe exists inside of you.
